Missed Class Policy

Whiplash Academy

At Whiplash, we understand that unforeseeable circumstances may cause you to miss a class. Irrespective of this; the course is progressive and is designed to develop and stretch your current knowledge and skill set with every class. Missing a class may cause you to struggle with subsequent sessions in the course until you have caught up on the one you missed, therefore; it is imperative that you avoid being absent as much as possible. A record of your attendance will be taken every session.

At Whiplash, we will do our best to assist you to catch up on content from missed classes as long as it is within reasonable grounds. We are not obligated to provide catch up classes for trainees. Trainees do not have any automatic right to attend another training session, and should not rely on this option as a guaranteed way of catching up on missed classes. We are not obligated to give you permission to attend a catch up session or attend a future course to compensate for the missed class.

You may request a one to one catch up class with your trainer if you miss classes or are unable to attend another course to make up for it or you feel that you are not confident to progress in the course even after independently making up for missed classes. These classes have an hourly fee of $150 per hour and are subject to trainer availability.

It is your responsibility to check with your trainer about the requirements for the missed class (e.g start time, models and equipment) so that, if permitted to attend another class you will be prepared. You may be required to catch up on a missed class if there was an assessment scheduled or significant content and techniques were covered.

In most cases, you’ll have make up for a missed class in your own time. This means that you need to obtain a copy of the study notes -regarding the topic covered- from a classmate and then apply knowledge by practicing on a model outside of class time. This ensures that you have practiced enough to achieve competency by the course completion.

If your training cannot proceed or be completed at the academy due to COVID-19 restrictions enforced by the State Government, Health Organisation, or precautions to protect students, staff and the general public you will have online access to complete your learning and additional support will be offered. No refund will be given.

If you miss a class, you need to:

1.      Call or email trainer as soon as you know you will need to absent from a class.

2.      Obtain a copy of class notes from another trainee. ( Or your Trainer )

3.      Read and study the notes for the class you missed out on

4.      Attempt to do the technique that was taught before returning to class (if applicable)
