What’s Powder/Ombré Brows?

Ombré brows/powder brows is a technique of cosmetic tattooing that provides a means to fill the brow with a dot shading effect resulting in a daily makeup look done with an eyebrow pencil, powder or pomade.

The tails of the brow are darker and fade into a light beginning to the brow, giving a perfect ombré make up effect. The effects will be waterproof, smudge-proof and completely natural. It is done by using a vibrational machine to work on implanting colour pigment to the top layer of the skin.

The great thing is that ombré brows/powder brows are suitable for most skin types.

The procedure

To ensure that you will be delighted with the finished result, before the permanent procedure takes place, Mae will provide you with a detailed consultation, drawing the shape of your new eyebrows with a fine pencil so that you can see how they will look. The result is the creation of amazing brows that showcase your face and are permanent from day one; there is no downtime and you won’t need a touch up for about 4-6 weeks. Your skin’s pigment retention capability will depend on your skin type, age, how much sun you have been exposed to, use of skin products, medication, your immune system and the quality of aftercare. Touch-ups will be needed only annually to deal with natural fading.

How You should prepare for the procedure

Before performing the procedure it is essential to avoid sunbathing for one week. Avoid waxing or tinting the eyebrows for about 3 days before the treatment.

It is recommended not to drink alcohol, coffee and other drinks consisting caffeine for 24 hours before the procedure.

No fish oil, vitamin E or hair & nail supplement 2 weeks before the appointment.

Treatment can not be performed onto an affected skin.

What to avoid and how to behave after the procedure?

During the healing period (7-10 days), it’s not recommended to visit a bathhouse, sauna, or a pool. You should avoid tanning, including a sun-bed. Avoid heavy sweating, any other face procedures and limit the use of cosmetics, especially near the treated area (the brows). Avoid touching the treated area. On the first day after the procedure you should gently clean treated area with cotton pad and cleane water (every hour), you should avoid washing your face, although wet hygienic tissues would be ok. After healing period you can wash your face with flowing fresh water, although avoid the use of clearing agents on the treated area. Throughout the healing period it is essential to use the healing cream for at least 2-3 times a day (Oilment is included in a treatment).

Maintenance

Annual refreshes are recommended every 1 to 2 years to maintain the detail, colour and shape of your brow, the price from and too will depend on if changes are made to the brow, for example fuller, darker or different shape * After 2 years of not having any annuals a new service will be required at full price
